Prayers for A Servant's Heart

***Thank you so much for answering the questions last week about how you like to receive your Warrior Prayers.  The winner of the Warrior Prayers art piece is......

Tracey!  Email me and we'll work on getting that lovely Michelle Pendergrass exclusive art piece in your hands!***

*****************

An everyday prayer in our home...that our sons would do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than themselves.   Certainly not a quality that comes naturally, I find that we fight the "mine!" all of our lives.  But what do we really deserve other than the wrath of GOd?  Everything good we have comes from Him, given because He loves us.  We deserve punishment, as do our sons.  No, He gives not because we deserve anything good, but simply because He loves us.

This week let's pray for God to give us all, including our sons, hearts that truly love others more than ourselves - servant's hearts.

Day One:  May our sons do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than themselves (Philippians 2:3)

Day Two:  May our sons do unto others as they would have others do unto them (Luke 6:31)

Day Three: May our sons love one another with brotherly affection, outdoing one another in showing honor (Romans 12:10)

Day Four: May our sons have love in their hearts that is patient and kind, does not envy or boast, is not arrogant or rude, does not insist on its own way and is not irritable or resentful (1 Corinthians 13:4-5)

Day Five: May our sons show sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind (1 Peter 3:8)

Day Six: May our sons live with their wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel (1 Peter 3:7)

Day Seven: May our sons know how to control their own bodies in holiness and honor (1 Thessalonians 4:4)

I need your help.  Since I first began praying the Word over my sons a year ago this month, several different opportunities to get other boy moms involved have presented themselves.  For several months now I've offered a weekly Twitter chat (#WarriorPrayers), daily encouragement on our Facebook page and Twitter.  And, as you know, a few months ago I started this blog to give you weekly topical prayer calendars for your sons.

It's a lot of work!

And I love it!  But it would help me a great deal if you could take just a second and tell me how you best like to receive your encouragement to pray for your sons.  In the comments simply put:

a. If you like daily Facebook prayers the best (www.facebook.com/WarriorPrayers)
b. If you like daily Twitter prayers the best (#Warrior Prayers)
c. If you like weekly topical prayer calendars the best (www.warriorprayers.com)
d. If you like a weekly Twitter chat the best (#WarriorPrayers)

As a little incentive, I'm throwing in a chance to win a $25 store credit to the Warrior Prayers Art Collection by Michelle Pendergrass!  Each person who leaves a comment is entered to win!

  7. I think I found you on either Facebook or Twitter [I'm following you on both] I didn't even know about this blog until your post today on FB.

I just signed up to receive rss via email which is really the easiest way for me to receive these.

I like the Weekly prayers that way I can copy and paste into my To Do list for the week.

  8. I prefer the FB because I like being able to chime in on the prayer and read what others add in too. Makes it feel personal and corporate. But, I also love Twitter because the retweet feature is great. However, the twitter chats always seem to fall at bedtime for my kiddos so I usually can't read them until later. Go with what works best for you, because I will search these prayers out wherever they are. thank you so much for sharing them! ~Jessica

  9. I like the FB posts but then I come here and print out the weekly calendar to put in my bathroom so I can pray for my boys as I get dressed in the mornings. Thanks so much for putting all of this together. I appreciate the time it must take you to do this!

  10. I follow on Twitter and "like" on Facebook. That being said, I really like to utilize those two mediums. On Facebook I can copy & repost to my friends who might not know of your page and on Twitter I can retweet to share.

With that though, ultimately it comes down to what works best for you!

(oh and I think there is a way to link your fb and twitter accounts so they cross post if that would help at all)

  14. Brooke,
Firstly - THANK YOU - for sharing this prayer journey & others with us! I greatly appreciate it.
I like the weekly prayer calendar/blog best... secondly the FB daily posts, But - having the weekly calendar to print out is easier for me to keep up as I currently don't get the chance to get on the computer, but do have my iPod touch to view. "Hearing" how busy things are getting - posting the weekly calendar would be less time consuming... then maybe you could Request to have all the other moms start posting the daily prayers to the FB Page to keep everyone going? Make a monthly calendar giving each mom one day a month, or even one day every other mom depending on how many want to help out.
I wonder too... I know that when I tweet something, it's linked to my facebook to post there as well. Is there an application that would allow to schedule posts within twitter?

I'd love to help out in any way possible. Please don't hesitate to email me @ hljourney at gmail dot com and we could discuss further.
    Hugs, HL

  16. it seems everyone has varied responses, except that they're
all agreed upon how MUCH they love your ministryA!

this is quite humbling, because yesterday i spent the
entire day assembling booklets of "a mother's prayers" for
    young moms i love.

all along you were here doing it much better, and thank Him
for that. keep up the good work!
